You may contact another company called "Sensormatic", their price is around HKD20000 to HKD 25000, they one I found in Watson and Park N. Price is cheaper than 3M one
I meet with one huy from Sensormatic, the campany called "tyco" or "ADT" something, not sure, I will check for you. They are selling the system for Park N, Watson. I found their contact from the machine installed in the retail store. They quote me below HKD 30,000 for a one meter entrance, as they say the price is different with different entrance. The price includes the system, installation and 1000pcs label, the label is quite small, let me know if you need the contact, I can find the name card for you.

I have used EAS system for several years. there are some problems that you need to think over: 1) You need to stick a security label inside a book pocket. 2) You need to insert a reusable detune card in the book pocket when the book is checked out, if not, the alarm doors will be on for several seconds. 3) Your students are keen to find out the secret and if they know it, they just use a detune card, then they can steal books as many as they can.
The one I use does not have the same problem. Hte main problem is hard to find a location for the security label for those thin booklet
