我們學校圖書館正考慮安裝防盜門, 有沒有學校圖書館已安裝了防盜裝置呢? 可否分享一下是否有效? 學生的反應又如何呢?
I have installed a pair of alarm doors in my library for several years. As I know, there are two types of alarm doors:
1.Magnetic system (popularly used in libraries)
-It costs about 50000 dollars including the encoder and decoder. The magnetic stick is around 1 dollar each.
-The magnetic stick is small enough to be hidden inside the book so that it is not easy to be found.
2.Frequency system (popularly used in departmental stores)
-It costs about 40000 dollars. Each plain label costs about 50 cents and the detune card is also around 50 cents each.
-The plain label is large (around 1.5 inch in square) and it needs a detune card in form of due date card covering on it.
I must remind you of the preparation work for installing this alarm door system. It takes a plenty of time to stick the devices to all books. And you should also take account of the ongoing cost. Anyway, installation of alarm doors can surely reduce the number of the write-off.

how much can it reduce?
2. 維修方面怎樣? 容易壞嗎?tang yu kwong 寫道:
In my library, I have installed CCTV and alarm door systems. The loss rate reduces from 100 items to below 10.
My students do not show any unease feeling to these devices as they are used to them in the public libraries and departmental stores. But most importantly, you must post eye-catching warning signs to all patrons about the installations of the CCTV and alarm doors.
You will have the warranty for about one to three years. You should ask the suppliers for any details.
I would like to advise that you must complete the installation and the sticking within a summer. Therefore, you have to plan very earlier, including the manpower for the sticking.
