In addition, all teachers and students could also have the free visit to the “Science Alive” Exhibition and Science Museum Permanent Exhibition Hall after the lectures.

Details
Our Climate in Chaos
International leaders and scientists have declared that climate change is a greater threat to the world than global terrorism. On an almost daily basis we see evidence that our climate is changing with dramatic, sometimes catastrophic effect. All the evidence now suggests that we are indeed in a period of climate change – possibly moving at a pace greater than was predicted. Is this a problem of our own making? If so, what can we do about it? In his lecture, Dr Andy McCrea will explain the background to the problem and will review some of the available solutions to what is the greatest challenge facing our generation. Can we move away from our energy-hungry society to a more sustainable lifestyle where we protect and nourish the Earth’s precious resources for future generations and at the same time satisfy the need to develop as a prosperous global community? What are the options?

Remarks: Both talks will be demonstrated through the use of models and examples of the technologies, such as various solar panel tubes and equipments.

Dr. Andy McCrea' s profile
Dr. Andy McCrea has worked for almost 30 years in the electricity supply industry in the UK.
