Dear, Fully agreed with Timothy. If I am Agatha Sit, I will consider this guy seriously. Jack, I am wondering if you really know the libary, at least you have spell some of them wrongly - VLib (not VLAB) and SLS (not SLSS). I have reviewed the requirement of the post: Library Science plus 5 years of post-qualification experience in academic libraries; (ii) working knowledge of Unix, Windows, SQL, PERL, Java and the INNOPAC Library System; (iii) strong written and oral communication skills in Chinese and English, with ability to liaise with vendors, teaching faculties and all levels of administrative staff. To me, the requirement is difficut to achieve. It requires one who have good experience on Innopac, while he has knowledge on Unix (quite rare nowaday except you have related working experience with it - many know Linux instead), SQL and PERL are well known relational database and Unix/Linux programming language. That means the one should be an expertdealing with both the operational and software development - who I think is quite hard to achieve. I have no bias and I think we will know who will be the one to fill in this position later. Kent
柯老D I respect you as a retired teacher and works hard in the Ed. City. I dont know why you will say in this way. Don't look down the young man and dont think this will be a joke. I know Ms. Agatha Sit well, as does she. I can discuss with her on many aspects, from the library to the reading schemes that she dreams of. I have worked with her and knows she is a 'demanding person'. I said I have keep silent for quite a long time, and don't want to respond to any others, except that you, 柯老D , that makes me feel disappointed!
Jack! Objection! I have to put forward my serious complaint to you to use my own id! I don't think this is good for you! If you are a man, don't do things in this way. Your wordings really makes others angry! .... Kent
Kent. Don't be angry with "Jack So". Maybe "Jack So" is not a real name. To choose the right employee is not an easy task. I think there are three important things. Firstly, the chosen one should meet the basic requirements. Secondly, the chosen one should have good working centive. Thirdly, the future boss would choose the one can suit her/his working style. I believe Ms Agatha Sit (CUTW Librarian) will choose the right one from the applicants.
